Hays County Sheriff Allen Bridges passed away early Saturday. He served Hays County for over 11 years and had 25 years of prior law enforcement experience with the Austin Police Department. Sheriff Bridges was 62.

Last week Commissioners Court unanimously voted to commit to placing a conservation easement on a 2,252 acre ranch west of Buda. It's a monumental achievement for the protection of the Edwards Aquifer and the citizens of Central Texas.
